The Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS) and the University of Oxford organised the Joint Symposium on Chinese Medicine & Natural Product Research (COI Theme 7) in Kunming, China on 22nd to 24th April 2017.

Six representatives from Oxford attended along with nine representatives from China.  The purpose of this symposium was to explore potential collaborative projects in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine, both clinical and pre-clinical.  Additionally, it included defining opportunities for capacity building through post-doctoral and student exchange.

In addition to this, a new link has been developed between CAMS Oxford Institute and The Institute of Medicinal Plant Development Yunnan Branch, which delegates visited on 25th April 2018. Several potential projects as well as potential collaborations between CAMS Yunnan branch and Oxford's Tropical Medicine research centres in South East Asia were also discussed during the meeting.
