Danielle Fairbrass
NDS Bioresource Programme Manager
As NDS Bioresource Programme Manager I am responsible for managing the formation of the NDS Bioresource, bringing multiple biobanks within the department under one roof and delivering a single route for researchers to access the essential collections and biobanking services available therein. I work with the biobanking, histopathology and surgical research nurse teams, the wider department, and our collaborators, ensuring a smooth transition to a more efficient Bioresource and better supporting the fantastic research being conducted both within NDS and further afield.
Prior to this role, I built a career as a research scientist working predominantly in the biopharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, engineering novel cell lines for the production of advanced therapeutics. I have been responsible for both the scientific research and management of projects developing viral vector-based treatments for diseases including Cystic Fibrosis and Parkinson’s Disease, in addition to leading a team of scientists using machine learning to better design CAR-T therapies.
