COI DPhil Studentship Opportunity

The Nuffield Department of Medicine (NDM) is one of the largest and most highly regarded departments of medicine in Europe and noted for the wide range and excellence of its basic and clinical research.

The CAMS Oxford Institute is embedded within NDM, and has two fully-funded DPhil Studentships on offer for the 2026 student intake, supported by funding from COI and AbbVie.

  • Deadline for applications is Friday 19th June, 12:00 PM (UK Time, Noon)
  • Shortlisting will take place w/c 29th June
  • Interviews take place w/c 13th July

Application Notes

Before making an application please see the University of Oxford Clinical Medicine DPhil page for entry requirements.

Only applications made by the University of Oxford application system for a DPhil in Clinical Medicine will be considered. You may apply for a maximum of two COI projects.

★ Please clearly state ‘COI Project’ together with the project number under ‘Proposed field and title of research project’

We recommend that you contact the supervisor of the project you are interested in, to discuss your application and to understand if the lab likely be a good fit for you.

  • Course code is 'RD_CM1' and the Programme description is 'DPhil in Clinical Medicine’

  • Where an advertised project is not available for selection on the application system you can manually add the projects

  • Please ensure referees are willing to write and submit your reference by the deadline

  • All applicants need to provide a personal statement (maximum 500 words), following the guidance in the Statement of purpose/personal statement section of the Graduate Admissions

  • Applications must be submitted by Friday 19th June, 12:00 PM (UK time, noon)

  • Applications must be made via the University of Oxford Admissions system 

  • Interviews will take place in July 2026
