Yang Liu

Associate Professor of Immunology

Biography

Yang Liu is a member of Prof. Xuetao Cao’s team and a principal investigator at Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. She obtained an M.D. in immunology from Peking Union Medical College & Tsinghua University under the supervision of Prof. Xuetao Cao in 2019. She was invited to attend the 68th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in Physiology or Medicine held in Germany (2018) and selected as a member of the MIT Technology Review Innovators Under 35 Asia Pacific (2022).

Research Interests

Yang is interested in the epigenetic and metabolic regulation of host-pathogen interaction. Her findings add new mechanistic insight into the host defense against invading pathogens through epigenetic and metabolic regulation of innate immunity and inflammation, and provide new potential targets for the intervention and treatment of infectious diseases.
