Postdoctoral Immunologist

Máiréid joined the Oxford Vaccine Group as a Postdoctoral Immunologist under Professor Teresa Lambe in September 2021. She joins the ongoing work on COVID-19 clinical trials and will be pursuing exploratory T cell research in the context of COVID-19 vaccination.

Máiréid previously completed a BSc in Immunology at the University of Glasgow and an Immunology of Infectious Diseases MSc at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She completed her PhD at the University of Hong Kong, under the supervision of Professor Leo Poon and Dr Sophie Valkenburg. Previous PhD work investigated the effect of immune pressure elicited by next generation influenza vaccines on the IAV genome.

Her primary research interests include viral respiratory diseases, vaccine development, T cells and immune imprinting.
